Product Description
0.96 Inch 128x64 OLED Module, SSD1306, IIC, 4 Pin Header, Compact Readout Screen 1. Product Description

An OLED pixel is its own light source. Each 0.154 mm dot is an organic stack between electrodes, and current through it makes white light directly, with no backlight, diffuser or polariser behind. Contrast is therefore effectively unlimited: an unlit pixel is genuinely dark, so a number reads as a hard shape under a bench lamp. The SSD1306 holds the frame buffer and drives the 128x64 matrix over a two wire IIC bus, and generates the panel voltage from the 3.3 V rail through a charge pump. The module is 27.3 x 27.8 x 2.65 mm with a 21.744 x 10.864 mm active window, and the 4 pin 2.54 mm header plugs straight into a breadboard, which is the point of this build.

3. Applications

Bench prototypes show a sensor value and a bus address. Power supplies show a voltage and a current. Chargers show a state and a percentage. Test jigs show a pass or fail code. Each is a two line readout on a board where a header is easier than a flex tail.

4. Advantages

The 2.54 mm header is the practical advantage: a prototype is wired in minutes and moved between boards, where a 0.5 mm FPC needs a connector and a jig. The self emissive panel removes the backlight, so 2.65 mm fits an enclosure with no room for a light guide. The charge pump means one 3.3 V rail powers logic and panel, and -40 to +70 C covers an unheated workshop as well as a bench.

5. Functions

The module renders two text lines, icons, bar graphs and scrolling text, accepts IIC writes at standard or fast mode, supports horizontal and vertical addressing, and dims by reducing pixel current. Two signal wires also let a readout share the bus with a sensor and an EEPROM.

6. User Manual

Bring-up: connect VCC to 3.3 V, GND, SCL and SDA, pull the two signal lines up, then send the SSD1306 initialization sequence, set the multiplex ratio and the charge pump, clear the RAM and write a test pattern. Confirm the IIC address, since a module with a bridged address pad answers on a different one and appears dead. Run the panel at reduced brightness for the first hour and check that no column is stuck.

7. Precautions

Do not exceed 3.3 V, and do not hot plug the header while the board is powered, which can latch the controller. Keep the panel out of direct sunlight, since organic material degrades under UV. Do not leave a static image at full brightness for days, because a fixed pattern leaves a faint retention trace. Handle by the PCB edge, not the glass, and keep flux and cleaning solvent off the panel face.

8. Shipping

Orders ship in 5-10 working days after payment. Sample quantities travel by express, production by air or sea, and monthly capacity near 100,000 pieces covers small and mid volume builds.

9. Payment Terms

T/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted. Sample orders are prepaid, and production runs on a deposit plus balance against documents.

10. Packaging

Modules ship in anti-static trays with bubble wrap, sealed in a moisture barrier bag inside an export carton, and each tray is labelled with model and quantity for easy counting.

11. Purchase, Return and After-Sales

Minimum order is 10 pieces. Dead on arrival units are replaced after photo verification, a 12 month warranty covers manufacturing defects, and our engineers help with the initialization table and the address setting.
