Colour electronic paper breaks that link, because the image is stored in pigment rather than in a printed sheet: charged black and white particles move through clear fluid inside the E6 film, a colour filter array sets the hue, and the picture stays with no current until the next update. A price therefore costs one refresh, not one print run. This 7.09 inch tag gives that panel enough area to act as a category header as well as a price: 1600x1200 at 4:3, a dual-core 240 MHz controller on RTOS with 8MB RAM and 8GB storage, 2.4G WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 for pushes, and a 5000mAh cell that keeps a shelf alive for months. At 0.48 kg with a wood or metal frame it mounts like a sign, not like a label.

Supermarket category shelves show a family name and a promotion band. Electronics aisles show a model and three price tiers. Pharmacy shelves show a reimbursed price and a dosage note. Furniture floors show a range and a finance line. Duty free shelving shows two currencies. Each replaces a printed card that a store reprints at every campaign, and each is read from a trolley at two metres.

The cost of being right is the first advantage: a price that changes weekly costs one refresh, and the panel draws nothing in between, so a header outlives dozens of print runs. The 7.09 inch area replaces a paper header plus a separate promo card, which removes a fitting task per campaign. Colour E Ink shows a red clearance band above black prices without a second label. The tag shows a product name, price tiers, unit pricing, a barcode block and a colour promotion band, takes updates over 2.4G WiFi or Bluetooth 5.0, stores a set of layouts in 8GB and rotates them on a schedule. A price push is a partial refresh, so a single correction does not flash an entire aisle during trading hours.

Deployment: charge the unit, join the store network, bind the tag to a shelf position in the console, then push a layout. Schedule campaign pushes outside opening hours, since a full colour refresh is visible. Verify the layout from trolley distance, not from 40 cm, and keep the charging port reachable behind the frame.

Keep within 0 to +50 C and away from bakery ovens and chilled cases outside the rating. Do not press the panel face when clipping a frame, keep solvent cleaners off the film, and wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. Charge with the supplied cable, and remove the cell before seasonal storage.
