A home wall display has to disappear: no glow at night, no cable to a socket, no fan. Electrophoretic film delivers all three. Microcapsules hold charged black and white pigment, with red and yellow in the colour builds, and the UC8179 drives the waveform that brings the required species to the surface. When the field is removed the particles stay, so the picture is stored physically and reads by the light already in the room. That is why a 7.5 inch home panel can run for a year on a small cell: it draws current for a few seconds per update and nothing in between. The 800x480 array on a 163.2 x 97.92 mm area, at 0.204 mm pitch, holds a weather block, a family calendar and a to-do list on one face, and it runs from a single 3.3 V rail.

Kitchen panels show a calendar and a shopping list. Hallway displays show a schedule and a weather block. Home office boards show tasks. Entry consoles show a bin day and a door state. Bedside panels show a wake plan. Each is glanced at while walking past, in a spot where a mains cable would show.
4. AdvantagesThe absence of light is the first advantage: an emissive panel in a bedroom is a lamp, while e-paper is only visible when someone looks at it. Second, the refresh cadence of a home display is low, a few times an hour at most, so bistability matters more than speed. Third, a 7.5 inch face carries a calendar grid that a smaller panel cannot, and 3.3 V lets the controller run from the same rail as the radio. Fourth, at 44 g the panel hangs on adhesive pads without a wall anchor.
5. FunctionsThe module renders calendar grids, lists, icons and colour bars, accepts SPI data, refreshes fully when the layout changes and partially when one entry moves, and keeps the image with the supply removed. A host can therefore wake on a timer, update a single row, and sleep, which is what keeps a battery home display practical.
6. User ManualSet-up: mount the frame, route the FPC through a channel, apply 3.3 V, reset, load the UC8179 table for 800x480, set the window, write the frame, then refresh. Choose a refresh schedule that avoids the evening, since a full refresh is visible and a household notices a flashing calendar. After a battery swap, run a full refresh to clear residual pigment.
7. PrecautionsDo not press on the glass when clipping the frame to a wall plate, because a 7.5 inch sheet flexes under a thumb. Keep within 0 to +40 C and out of direct sun behind glass, which can exceed that in summer. Keep the FPC away from the wall anchor, and never cut power mid-refresh. A panel showing a faint previous week needs a full refresh, not a new battery.
8. ShippingProduction ships within 5-10 working days after payment. Samples go by express for a wall trial, volume by air or sea, and monthly capacity near 100,000 pieces covers consumer programs.
9. Payment TermsT/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted. Sample orders are prepaid and production runs on a deposit plus balance against documents.
10. PackagingPanels ship with protective film, in rigid trays with foam separators, sealed in a moisture barrier bag inside a reinforced carton, so the glass arrives flat and unmarked.
11. Purchase, Return and After-SalesMinimum order is 10 pieces. Arrival damage is replaced after photo verification, the 12 month warranty covers defects, and our engineers help with refresh scheduling and wall-mount design.
