Product Description
1.3 Inch 128x64 OLED Module for Industrial Instruments, SSD1306, 3-/4-Wire SPI 1. Product Description

An industrial instrument may sit in a cold store at -30 C, a boiler room at 60 C and a dusty workshop in the same week. This self-emissive OLED module is rated from -40 to +70 C and carries none of the parts that usually fail in that environment: no backlight LED string, no diffuser, no inverter, no polariser to cloud with age. Each pixel is an organic stack that emits when current passes, so the image is direct light with unlimited contrast. The SSD1306 holds a 128x64 frame in its display memory and offers 3-/4-wire SPI, IIC or an 8-bit parallel bus, which means an existing instrument controller can usually reuse the bus it already drives instead of adding an interface chip.

3. Applications

Gas detectors, portable calibrators, temperature and humidity loggers, dosimeters, hydraulic test gauges, battery testers and field configuration terminals use this module. Field instruments are read in low light and in sunlight, often through a scratched enclosure window, and they must survive being dropped into a toolbox at the end of a shift.

4. Advantages

Industrial integration favours robustness. A 30 pin 0.7 mm solder tail is a wide, tolerant joint that survives vibration and repeated thermal cycling better than a fine pitch connector. Three interface options let a controller board keep its existing wiring. Self-emission removes the backlight inverter, a frequent service item in sealed equipment. Full view direction lets a technician read the value at whatever angle the test lead allows, which is a real constraint when both hands are occupied.

5. Functions

The module displays measurements, units, warning icons and bar trends in white on black, accepts SPI, IIC or parallel data, and exposes SSD1306 commands for scrolling, inverted warning states, dim mode and partial display, so a value can blink or invert without redrawing the whole frame.

6. User Manual

Select the bus strap, initialise the SSD1306 with a multiplex ratio and a contrast suited to the enclosure window, load the GDDRAM, then enable the panel. On a parallel bus verify the read and write strobe timing before the first frame; on SPI confirm the data/command polarity. Set dim mode for night use rather than lowering contrast in the initialization table.

7. Precautions

Emitter ageing scales with cumulative brightness, so avoid a fixed header at maximum contrast across a long duty cycle. Derate contrast inside a sealed enclosure where heat builds, support the solder tail mechanically, and never exceed 70 C even briefly during burn-in. Keep solvents away from the organic edge seal, which is the first area to fail after a spill.

8. Shipping

Production ships within 5-10 working days after payment. Pilot instruments travel by express, production orders by air or sea, and capacity near 100,000 pieces a month supports repeat builds.

9. Payment Terms

T/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted; engineering samples are prepaid and production runs on a deposit plus balance against documents.

10. Packaging

Modules ship in anti-static trays with foam dividers, a moisture barrier bag and a rigid export carton suitable for an instrument production line.

11. Purchase, Return and After-Sales

Minimum order is 10 pieces. Units failing on arrival are replaced after photo verification, a 12 month warranty covers manufacturing defects, and our engineers support bus selection, contrast tuning and burn-in limits.
