Four colour e-paper adds two pigment layers to the black and white film. Microcapsules still hold charged particles in a clear fluid, but red and yellow sit in additional layers so the waveform brings any of the four to the surface. Once settled the image is bistable, and the reflective surface reads under store lighting without glare. This 1.54 inch panel delivers 200x200 pixels on a 27 x 27 mm active area with the SSD1681 driver over 4-SPI. A promotional block can therefore print in colour on the same label as the price, and the image survives shipment and battery removal with the tag switched off.

Price rails show a price and a discount band. End caps show a bundle offer. Pharmacy shelves show a reimbursed price. Cooler doors show a cold drink price with a flash. Showroom holders show a model number beside a colour swatch. A four colour label flags a discount in red and a bundle in yellow on one face, which a two colour tag cannot do.
4. AdvantagesFour colour output in one refresh removes a printing pass and the coloured paper stock a paper program needs, so a chain changes a promotion by radio. The 27 mm square fits standard rail clips, so an existing estate upgrades without new hardware. The SSD1681 keeps firmware identical across the fleet, and the graphic survives a customer picking the label up.
5. FunctionsThe module renders price, unit price, barcode, logo and up to three highlight colours, accepts 4-SPI image data, runs a full refresh for a new promotion layout and a partial refresh for a price change, and keeps the frame when the tag sleeps. Red and yellow fields are addressed as pigments, not as overlays, so a large colour block costs no extra refresh time beyond the waveform itself.
6. User ManualCommission a tag by linking it to its rail position, connecting the 24 pin FPC, loading the SSD1681 register table, writing the frame buffer, then running a full refresh. Promotion changes afterwards go out as partial refresh commands from the access point. Because four colour waveforms are longer than two colour ones, schedule a promotion rollover outside trading hours rather than at the shelf.
7. PrecautionsStore between -30 and +70 C but operate from 0 to +50 C only, and let cold cartons reach room temperature before power-up to avoid condensation. Do not crease the FPC when clipping the tag in, avoid point pressure on the film, and replace the cell with the tag powered down. A tag that shows a faded colour block usually needs a full refresh, not a new battery.
8. ShippingProduction ships 5-10 working days after payment, consolidated per store or per distribution centre on request. Pilot aisles move by tracked express, chain rollouts by air or sea with full export paperwork, and monthly capacity of about 100,000 pieces covers a staged schedule.
9. Payment TermsPayments run through T/T, L/C at sight or Western Union. Trial quantities are settled upfront, rollout contracts use a deposit plus balance against documents, and repeat programs release against purchase orders.
10. PackagingEvery panel carries protective film, sits in an anti-static tray with bubble cushioning, then goes into a moisture barrier bag and an export carton labelled by store or SKU range so warehouses can split a delivery quickly.
11. Purchase, Return and After-SalesOrdering starts at 10 pieces, enough for a pilot aisle. Transit damage or first power-up failures are replaced after photo checks, a 12 month warranty covers defects, and we support tag templates, access point protocol and colour layer mapping.
