This is a transmissive TFT, a phone screen shrunk to a thumbnail. Liquid crystal cells sit between two polarisers; each cell has a thin film transistor acting as a switch and a storage capacitor holding the charge between frames. Charge twists the crystal, the twist sets how much backlight passes, and an RGB filter above each subpixel decides the colour. Every cell keeps its state, so only changed pixels are written. The IPS pattern puts both electrodes on one glass, so the crystal turns in plane and colour holds when the device tilts. This 1.14 inch module pairs a 135x240 array on a 14.864 x 24.912 mm area with the ST7789, which integrates drive, frame memory and a four wire SPI port, in either a 13 pin 0.7 mm solder or an 8 pin 0.5 mm FPC build.

Fitness trackers show a time and a step count. Bands show one notification per screen. Temperature patches show a reading and a trend arrow. Game pads show a score strip. Glucometers show a value with a unit. Finder tags show a name and a battery icon. All are small and battery powered, read at 25 cm.
4. AdvantagesDensity is the reason to choose this size: 135x240 on 1.14 inch gives about 240 pixels per inch, sharp enough for small type and icons where an 80x160 panel looks coarse. The two connection options let one drawing serve a flex watch build and a soldered module. The 1.6 mm outline leaves a millimetre for a lens, and 400 nits keeps it readable indoors within a wearable power budget.
5. FunctionsThe module renders text, icons, progress rings and 65K colour graphics, accepts 4-SPI writes, supports windowed updates so a changing digit does not repaint the screen, and dims through backlight PWM. The ST7789 adds vertical scroll and idle blanking, so a host scrolls a list without rewriting the buffer.
6. User ManualSequence: apply 3.3 V, pull reset low then release, load the ST7789 table for 135x240, set the address window, stream RGB565 data, and only then enable the backlight. Check the connection option before ordering firmware: the 13 pin solder and 8 pin FPC builds share a driver but not a pin order, and a mismatch shows as a blank panel that looks like a dead module.
7. PrecautionsStay within 3.0 to 3.6 V, and never enable the backlight before initialization. Keep the panel within -20 to +70 C, avoid condensation when a cold device is carried indoors, and do not press the glass when fitting a lens, because a pinched cell shows as a blue or yellow patch that does not clear. Clean with a dry cloth rather than solvent, which attacks the polariser edge.
8. ShippingOrders ship in 5-10 working days after payment. Prototypes travel by express so a build can start immediately, series quantities move by air or sea, and monthly capacity around 100,000 pieces supports wearable programs.
9. Payment TermsT/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted. Sample orders are prepaid, and production runs on a deposit plus balance against the bill of lading.
10. PackagingModules ship with a protective film, in anti-static trays with foam dividers, sealed in a moisture barrier bag inside an export carton marked with the build variant and quantity.
11. Purchase, Return and After-SalesMinimum order is 10 pieces. Units failing on arrival are replaced after photo verification, the 12 month warranty covers manufacturing defects, and we supply the initialization table plus the pin map for the chosen connection.
