Product Description
2.25 Inch 76x284 TN TFT Bar Display Module, ST7789P3, 4-SPI, 600 Nits 1. Product Description

This bar format transmissive TFT is built for panels that are long and shallow. A liquid crystal cell per pixel is switched by a thin film transistor and held by a capacitor; it modulates light from four white LEDs behind the glass, and a colour filter splits each pixel into red, green and blue. Nothing is emitted, so brightness is a property of the backlight. The cell is twisted nematic with its optimum at 12 o'clock, cheap and fast for content read straight on, in two builds: a 10 pin 0.6 mm solder connection and an 8 pin 0.5 mm FPC that brings the body down to 2.3 mm. With 600 nits and a 76x284 stripe on a 14.7972 x 55.2948 mm area, it fills a slot that would leave a square panel showing black borders.

3. Applications

Instrument strips show a parameter column beside a knob. Shelf edge displays show a price and a promotion band. Equipment readouts stack three or four values. Access plates show a floor list. Audio mixers show a channel and a level. Coffee machines show a menu step. Each housing is a slot, not a square window.

4. Advantages

Two builds on one drawing is the practical advantage: a 10 pin solder version for a board assembly and an 8 pin FPC version for a thin front panel, with no change to the image pipeline. The 2.3 mm body fits behind a 3 mm front plate, often the limit in a retrofit. 600 nits holds contrast beside a machine window where a 250 nit panel reads grey, and the bar geometry removes the black borders a square module would show.

5. Functions

The module shows text rows, numbers, bar graphs and 65K colour blocks, takes 4-SPI data at 3.3 V, supports windowed updates so one value changes without a full repaint, and dims through backlight PWM. Because 76 columns are enough for a label plus a figure, a host can lay out a two column table without proportional fonts or scrolling.

6. User Manual

Commissioning: apply 3.3 V, reset, load the ST7789P3 table for 76x284, set the address window, stream RGB565 data, then enable the backlight. Confirm the build before ordering firmware, since the 10 pin and 8 pin versions differ in pin order, and check FPC insertion depth on the thin build, where a partly seated tail shows random columns rather than a blank screen.

7. Precautions

Do not exceed 3.6 V and never run the four parallel LEDs without a current limit. Keep within -20 to +70 C, protect the FPC from pulling force during assembly, and avoid pressing the glass while clipping the module into a slot. A bar that shows a single dead column after handling has usually cracked a source trace at the bond, which handling by the tail will cause.

8. Shipping

Shipments leave 5-10 working days after payment. Samples go by express for a panel trial, series orders by air or sea, and monthly capacity of about 100,000 pieces supports instrument production.

9. Payment Terms

T/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted. Prototype orders are prepaid; production follows a deposit plus balance against the bill of lading.

10. Packaging

Modules ship with protective film, in anti-static trays with foam slots that support the long edges, sealed in a moisture barrier bag inside an export carton marked with build and quantity.

11. Purchase, Return and After-Sales

Minimum order is 10 pieces. Arrival damage is replaced after photo verification, the 12 month warranty covers manufacturing defects, and we provide the initialization table plus the mechanical drawing for both connection builds.
