An office door sign has an installation problem before a display problem: nobody wants to chase cable through plasterboard. Electrophoretic film solves it, because the image is stored in pigment, not voltage. Microcapsules hold charged black and white particles, with red and yellow in the colour builds; the SSD1677 lifts the required species to the surface and the particles stay after the field is removed. The sign therefore runs on a small cell for months and can be fixed with adhesive or a magnetic plate. The 960x640 array on a 215.52 x 143.68 mm area at 0.2245 mm pitch gives a heading, a room name, a booking table and a floor plan fragment, and the 60 g module hangs without a steel backing.

Meeting room doors show a room name, a booking table and an occupancy state. Executive doors show a name and a schedule. Consulting rooms show a practitioner and a session time. Hot desk zones show a seat map. Each is mounted where a cable run would need a channel and a permit.
4. AdvantagesNo cable is the first advantage: a 10.2 inch sign fixed with adhesive pads avoids a power drop, a conduit and the redecorating that follows. Second, the panel is silent and cold, so it can sit outside a quiet room without a fan or a hum. Third, bistability means the last booking stays visible during a network outage, which is better than a blank screen at a door. Fourth, 960x640 holds a booking table with times, so a room does not need a printed schedule beside the screen.
5. FunctionsThe module shows room names, booking rows, occupancy bands and a small map, accepts SPI data, refreshes fully when the room changes and partially when a single time slot is taken, and keeps the image when the supply is removed. A sign that updates only the changed slot avoids the visible full-screen flash that meeting rooms find distracting.
6. User ManualInstallation: fix the mounting plate to the wall or glass, route the FPC into the frame channel, connect the cell, apply 3.3 V, reset, load the SSD1677 table for 960x640, set the window, write the frame, then refresh. Run a full refresh after mounting to clear transport ghosting, and confirm the sign is legible from the corridor distance before closing the frame.
7. PrecautionsDoor signs live with slamming: use a compliant pad between the frame and the wall, and never clamp the glass directly, since a slam transfers into the panel edge. Keep within 0 to +40 C and out of direct sun through glass. Do not press the face to check the mounting, and never cut power mid-refresh. A sign showing a faint previous booking needs a full refresh rather than a battery change.
8. ShippingProduction ships within 5-10 working days after payment. Pilot floors go by express, building rollouts by air or sea, and capacity near 100,000 pieces per month supports fit-out schedules.
9. Payment TermsT/T, L/C at sight and Western Union are accepted. Sample signs are prepaid, and project volumes run on a deposit plus balance against documents.
10. PackagingPanels ship with protective film in rigid foam cradles with edge protection and a moisture barrier inside a reinforced carton, because a 10 inch sheet chips easily at the corner.
11. Purchase, Return and After-SalesMinimum order is 10 pieces, enough for a pilot floor. Transit damage is replaced after photo verification, the 12 month warranty covers defects, and our engineers review mount design and refresh schedules.
